BRILLAT-SAVARIN

French
gastronome, most famous for his Physiologie du goût
(Physiology of Taste), in which he treats the enjoyment of
food as a science. Brillat-Savarin wrote the book in secrecy,
paid for its publication, and released it anonymously. To
this day it is considered a gastronomical masterpiece.
Brillat-Savarin's legacy lives on today in the form of a cheese
and Savarin cake.
Brillat-Savarin coined the famous phrase "Tell me what you
eat and I will tell you what you are."
