ABRAHAM LINCOLN
12 Feb 1809 - 15 Apr 1865


Sixteenth President of the United States (4 March 1861 to his death), famous for his leadership during the American Civil War, his signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, and his eloquent speeches.

Though much maligned in his day for his handling of the war, he is now considered one of the finest American presidents.
