BLAISE PASCAL

French mathematician, physicist, religious philosopher, and inventor of the hydraulic press and the syringe.

Pascal was a child prodigy, having written a treatise on projective geometry at the age of 16 (which included Pascal's theorem) and having constructed a mechanical calculator at the age of 19. Pascal is also known for Pascal's Wager, which asserts that one is better off believing in God than not.
