AYN RAND
March 1952 - May 2001

Russo-American author and philosopher, best known for creating the philosophy of objectivism. Briefly, objectivism holds that the proper moral purpose of one's life is to pursue rational self-interest; that is, pursue one's own happiness. The economical equivalent of objectivism is capitalism, a system championed by Rand.

Rand is also known for authoring Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead, the former being one of the longest novels ever written.
