THIS WEEK IN HISTORY

I place great importance in history, since it offers perspective. Because it tends to repeat itself, we can learn a great deal about ourselves by learning about those who came before us. The real reason I started this column in the first issue, however, is because a lot of interesting things happened back in the day. Every day of the year has a story; I present a handful of them here.
